A Volunteer Crimefighter, Fashion Week and a 79-year Marriage

Forget about the Oscars – we have some award-worthy works of our own to celebrate:

  • Mark Morales put together a very sweet video about the longest-married couple (79 years!) in the Metropolitan Area for WCBS AM’s website. Be sure to watch this one all the way through – the best part is at the end.
  • Jenni Avins helped cover Fashion Week for Dossier, writing stories and taking pictures.
  • Damiano Beltrami, pounding the streets of the Bronx, discovered what, sadly, could soon become a citywide trend: much-needed local shops being pushed out of business by rising costs. Check out his piece in The Hunts Point Express.
  • Tim Persinko shared a byline on this Daily News story about efforts to save the M-8 bus line.
  • Mike Reicher’s profile of a volunteer crimefighter who has an interesting method of rooting out wrongdoing on Roosevelt Avenue found a home in The Queens Courier.

Congrats to all – and keep ‘em coming!
