Article by Prof. Frederick Kaufman Wins Science Writing Honor

A magazine article on the economics of human waste by Prof. Frederick Kaufman will be included in Houghton Mifflin’s next annual anthology of the Best American Science and Nature Writing, due out this fall. The story, “Wasteland: A journey through the American cloaca,” ran in the February 2008 issue of Harper’s.

Other upcoming magazine pieces by Kaufman, who teaches Feature Writing and Craft of Journalism courses at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, include:

* A story on genetically modified grapes in the May issue of Vice Magazine.
* A look at the new sex drug, PT-141, in the June issue of Men’s Journal.
