Danny Gold (’10) is a Mirror Award Finalist
“The Man Who Makes Money Publishing Your Nude Pics” appeared on The Awl, a New York City-based site that promotes daily discussion of relevant issues.
Another Mirror Award finalist — in the Best Commentary, Traditional/Legacy Media category — is Eric Alterman, a professor of journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and a distinguished professor of English at CUNY’s Brooklyn College. He was cited for three of his “Liberal Media” columns in The Nation: “How Low Will the ‘Washington Post’ Go?,” “How Rupert Murdoch Buys Friends and Influences People,” and “The Agony and Ecstasy—and ‘Disgrace’—of Steve Jobs.”
The Mirror Awards, given by Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, recognize excellence in reporting on the media. The 2012 competition drew more than 300 entries. Winners will be announced at a June 13 ceremony in New York.
