The Graduate School of Journalism is partnering with CUNY TV, a 24-hour cable station located at the CUNY Graduate Center, to offer students an invaluable hands-on learning opportunity. The station, located on Channel 75 in New York City, offers a broad range of programs that are produced in its own studios, as well as distributed from national and international broadcast companies.
More than 2 million households throughout the five boroughs of New York City have access to CUNY TV. Much of the station’s original programming is developed in partnership with campuses of The City University and with New York City’s cultural, civic and business communities.
Broadcast students at the Graduate School of Journalism will have an opportunity to serve paid internships at CUNY TV during the school year and summer and to interact with its professionals.
The station also will serve as an outlet for the best news stories produced by students in the broadcast track. As their capstone project in the third semester, broadcast students will produce a weekly one-hour news show about New York City that will be aired on CUNY TV and stored in its archives, as well as offered to other broadcast outlets in the City and beyond.
