Requests for access to public records at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism under the New York State Freedom of Information Law should be made in writing by email or U.S. mail to the School’s Records Access Officer:
Director of Academic Operations
CUNY Graduate School of Journalism
219 W. 40th St.
New York, NY 10018
Within five business days of receipt of a written request for records, the Records Access Officer must either:
(a) grant the request and make the records available;
(b) deny the request in writing, stating the basis for the denial, and informing the requester of the right to appeal;
(c) furnish a written acknowledgment of the request with an approximate date when the request will be granted or denied.
Public records are available for inspection and copying by appointment only at a location to be designated.
You have a right to appeal a denial of a request for access to records to the CUNY General Counsel and Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs. A copy of the University’s Procedures for Public Access to Records is available here.
