As CUNY J-School alumni, you retain the following privileges (you become alumni on the day of graduation):
- Access To The Building
Alumni will continue to have access to the building. To gain entry, you must show a photo ID and sign in with a public safety officer in the lobby on the third floor. There are no alumni ID cards. - Brown Bag Speaker Series
Alumni are invited to all Brown Bag Speaker events. - Career Services
Alumni can schedule individual appointments with the Career Services Office for the first two years after graduation. Alumni will receive job listings through the alumni listserv and may attend the annual job fair in the fall. - Class Listservs
You may continue to communicate with your former classmates through your individual class listserv and also through the alumni listserv. All alumni have sending privileges to the alumni listserv: alumni@journalism.cuny.edu.You have lifetime access to your @journalism.cuny.edu account. If you need to reset your password please contact the Help Desk: help@journalism.cuny.edu.
- Computer Resources
You may use the desktop computers in the Research Center only. - CUNY J-Camp
Alumni may enroll in CUNY J-Camp events at a discounted price. - January Academy
Alumni may enroll in January Academy courses at a reduced rate. - The Research Center
You may obtain an alumni barcode at the Research Center as long as you have paid any outstanding fines.The barcode lets you borrow materials from the Research Center only. You will not be allowed to borrow materials from other CUNY libraries. You are also welcome to use the J-School’s electronic databases while on campus. You will not have access to these electronic databases remotely.

- Technical support
- VPN access to the network
- Access to the network shares
- Computer access to the desktop systems in the School
- Access to the computer and editing labs
