The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism welcomed its first class in Fall 2006. Our program is rigorous, taught by outstanding faculty in our new, state-of-the-art facilities in Times Square.

CUNY Graduate School of Journalism students are on a three-semester program that leads to the M.A. degree in journalism; the first class graduated in December 2007. Each student focuses on a specific media track: print, broadcast or online journalism—but all of them learn about the technology and methods of each track, with an emphasis on convergence. Students also choose a reporting specialization: urban, business/economics, health/medicine or arts/culture.

CUNY students are required to do a full-time summer internship, in New York City or elsewhere. They may also do part-time internships during the school year as their schedules permit. We encourage you to schedule individual, on-campus recruiting days for internship interviews. Every fall the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism hosts a job fair, where you can conduct pre-scheduled employment and informational interviews with our graduating students.
