Clips don’t have to be sci/tech related, but it helps if the candidate can demonstrate an ability to write in that milieu. Please attach cover letter and resume (do not put in body of e-mail).

Make sure you include in your cover letter why you would be an excellent addition to the PopSci staff, and how you will help us make the magazine be the best it can be. This shows that 1) the candidate has looked at the magazine and knows its content, 2) the candidate has done some self-reflection and knows his/her strengths and weaknesses and 3) the candidate can clearly articulate why something (in this case, himself/herself) is notable without overselling it.
