Learn in detail how to file Freedom of Information requests from New York’s leading expert on the subject, Robert Freeman, executive director of the New York State Committee on Open Government. He will walk you through a Freedom of Information request, give you tips about how to tailor your language to maximize your success rate, and explain how to navigate the fees that some agencies are now trying to impose.

The session will be moderated by Tom Robbins, our investigative journalist in residence, and is open to students, faculty, alumni, and invited guests.

This event is part of the CUNY J-School’s Brown Bag Speaker Series. Attendees are welcome to bring lunch.
