Barbara Raab is senior news writer and web editor at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. She is part of the editorial team that shapes and writes the network evening newscast and its video-centric web site. In addition to her television news experience, Raab is a contributor to various magazines and web sites, including NYTimes.com, Slate.com, Salon.com, and MSNBC.com, and national legal correspondent for SiriusXM satellite radio’s OutQ News. She is a graduate of the Poynter Institute’s Multimedia for Journalism Educators training seminar.
She is a frequent speaker and teacher on media and journalism issues, and has been a Fellow in Residence at Louisiana State University’s Manship School, a Visiting Professional at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, and the Hearst Professional in Residence at the University of Colorado. She has a J.D. from the New York University School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University.
