Lin, Thomas – Adjunct Faculty, Fundamentals of Interactive Journalism

Thomas Lin is a senior producer at The New York Times. He has produced multimedia features primarily for the National and Science desks, edited the home page of NYTimes.com, and written for the tennis blog and the Metro and Sports sections. His projects have covered the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing, the election and inauguration of President Obama, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the life of President Ford, Hurricane Katrina, immigration, same-sex marriage, poverty, and other national issues. A piece he co-produced on Kentucky’s troubled dental care system took first place in the White House News Photographers Association’s Eyes of History 2008 contest.

Before joining The Times in 1995, Lin was a home page editor at The Indianapolis Star, a reporter and photographer for The Queens Tribune, and a teacher and engineer. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oregon State University and a College Scholar B.A. from Cornell University.
