Lawrie Mifflin is a senior editor at The New York Times. Currently part of the digital initiatives group, she is responsible for the newsroom-based online courses in The Times’s Knowledge Network. Previously she helped guide the integration of web and print journalists in newsroom operations, and the reinvention of daily processes on the various news and features desks to accommodate that integration.

From 2005 to 2007, Mifflin was the executive director of Television and Video for The Times, and before that director and executive director of Television Programming. She started at The Times as a sportswriter in 1982, after having been the first woman sportswriter at the New York Daily News. She has also been a deputy sports editor, an editor on the national desk, national education editor, and a business reporter. She has a B.A. from Yale University and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
