Bernstein, Roslyn – Professor, Feature Writing

Roslyn Bernstein is a professor of Journalism and Creative Writing in the Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions at Baruch College, where she is the director of the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program. She is also the founder and publisher of Dollars and $ense, the Baruch College business review, now published online. An experienced writer on subjects ranging from business and education to media and the arts, Bernstein’s work has appeared in many publications including The New York Times, Newsday, the Village Voice, New York magazine, Parents, Artnews, the Columbia Journalism Review, Buzzine, an on-line entertainment magazine, and Tablet, an-online magazine on Jewish life.

Her new book, Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo, published by The Jonas Mekas Foundation, was released in NYC in September 2010. In 2009, Bernstein published Boardwalk Stories, a collection of 14 linked short stories.

Bernstein holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in English from New York University and a B.A. in Political Science from Brandeis University.
