  • Ten Years of Excellent Journalism at the CUNY J-School

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, we have put together a website and companion book celebrating some of the best journalistic work to come out of the school from 2006-2016.

This is not strictly a “best of” compilation. Rather it is a collection of stories, packages and projects that represent the typical quality and impact of  some of the best work by our students and alumni – work that might never have been produced, and not had the resulting impact, if not for our school.

Indeed, it raises the question: Some of this work was produced by people who may not have become journalists if the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism did not exist.

Thanks to Craft of Journalism Professor Tim Harper, who is also a writing coach and editor of CUNY Journalism Press, and Malik Singleton, an adjunct faculty member who specializes in “techie journalism,” including data-driven reporting, for their work in pulling together this collection.

We invite you to check out 10 Years of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, 2006-2016.
