McGraw Fellows Get Honored and Published

  • By Amy Dunkin

It has been a good stretch for Fellows of the McGraw Center for Business Journalism.

1) Katherine Eban has won the 2019 Investigative Reporters & Editors award for best investigative book for Bottle of Lies, The Inside Story of the Generic Drug Boom, the New York Times best-selling examination of problems in the generic drug industry that she published last spring with McGraw Center support.

2) Vauhini Vara’s July cover story in Bloomberg Businessweek, New Workers of the World, has been long-listed for the One World Media Awards in the magazine feature category. The prestigious London-based award, supported by the BBC and others, recognizes the best coverage of the developing world, particularly work centered on underreported stories and issues.

3) Two stories by our Fellows have come out in recent weeks. When Big Tech Goes Green, Taxpayers Help Foot the Bill, by Mya Frazier, ran in early March in Bloomberg Businessweek. Can Drones Save Cardiac Arrest Victims? by Richard Korman ran on the investigative site, Tarbell.org.
