Guest Information

Guests should arrive at the Times Center (242 W 41st St, New York, NY 10036). Doors open at 10:45 AM.

Each guest must bring a photo ID and have their ticket ready before entry. The name on the ticket must match the name on the guest list.

Only guests with valid tickets will be admitted to the venue and reception.

Only admitted guests with tickets will be allowed to attend the reception.


Commencement Ceremony LiveStream 

We understand that all of your friends and family are not able to attend; however, they can watch the ceremony in real time, by clicking the livestream link.


Spanish Translation LiveStream

(12PM EST) If your friends and family (who are not attending the ceremony) are Spanish-speaking, they can attend the ceremony by Zoom interpreted live into Spanish. Please forward to anyone that you think will benefit.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES

Graduate Student Regalia and Ticket Pickup Information

Students will be able to pick up their regalia with Student Affairs the first week of December.

You will pick up your:

  • Academic Regalia Package (cap, gown, hood and tassel)
  • Ceremony guest tickets with your guests’ names printed on the front

Please make sure you have completed the J-School Experience and Career Services Employment exit surveys beforehand. These surveys will be released via email at the end of October.


Graduate Student Robing

Graduating students should plan to arrive at the Times Center by 10:30am.

Please review the How to Wear Your Commencement Regalia instructional video and How to Wear Your Academic Hood.

**Guests are not permitted into the student robing area.


March to the Auditorium Seating Area

Shortly before the celebration is about to begin, graduating students and faculty will organize to begin the procession. Faculty will lead the procession, followed by graduates.


Ceremony

The ceremony will begin promptly at noon. Please make sure to arrive at the time indicated above so that you can line up accordingly. As a reminder, please let your guests know they need to be seated by 11:45am, as the doors will be closed during the platform party and graduate procession.


After the Ceremony

Please join us for a reception on the lower level gallery of the Times Center serving light refreshments for graduates and guests from 1:30pm-2:30pm.
