This course is all about reporting on an advanced level. Students are expected to write and report better stories than in Craft I. The class follows a workshop format. Different journalistic genres and techniques are discussed throughout the semester. Students work on four basic skills: research and reporting, writing, multimedia production and interactive work. As part of the semester’s coursework, students also shoot and edit videos and photos, produce audio pieces, and create interactive web packages. This class is in Spanish.
Requirement: Students in both the MA-Journalism and the MA-Social Journalism are required publish at least one piece of work each semester in Craft 1 and 2 (MAJ) and Reporting for Social J and Advanced Reporting for Social J (MASJ). Students can fulfill this requirement with work from any first or second-semester class.
