Students get practical experience through in-class exercises and field assignments using technology integral to video journalism, whether it be broadcast on television, on the web or in theaters. Strong reporting, story telling, and production values are emphasized. Each student will produce and critique a variety of video forms.
Requirement: Students in both the MA-Journalism and the MA-Social Journalism are required publish at least one piece of work each semester in Craft 1 and 2 (MAJ) and Reporting for Social J and Advanced Reporting for Social J (MASJ). Students can fulfill this requirement with work from any first or second-semester class.
