Tech, Media and Democracy is a city-wide course that brings together journalism, design, media studies, and technical disciplines to understand the various threats to journalism, media, and civil discourse and explore methods to address these threats using technical and computational methods and techniques.
How does the information environment contribute to the health of representative democracies such as the United States? How do we create consensus in our communities on how to address the challenges that face us? How does the relationship between technology platforms, media, governments and citizens determine which voices get heard? These are the central questions that will animate Tech, Media & Democracy 2020
