Podcasting technology has been around since the early 2000s. But advances in technology and content offerings since 2014 have sparked a “Golden Age” in the industry. The media landscape is now crowded with on-demand audio programming: from established radio networks, legacy news publishers, young digital media companies, and indy podcasters making shows on a shoestring budget. In this era of podcast proliferation, how do you make one that stands out, and finds an audience? This five-week module challenges students to develop and pitch their own idea for an original podcast. This course will cover marketing, audience and business development, production logistics and pitching.
