DESCRIPTION:Recently many individuals have gone public with their stories of working in a subculture of misogyny within journalism. Some experienced pressure and harassment from colleagues and management while others have encountered harassment while covering stories or even backlash after their pieces were published. For every individual who went public\, there are many who haven’t\, fearing retaliation\, judgment and termination. \nInspired by their stories\, the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism presents a panel discussion on sexual harassment in journalism\, moderated by Associate Professor Lisa Armstrong.\n \nPanelists include: \nBijoyeta Das\, Journalist and CUNY-J adjunct professor \nCindy Galli\, ABC News Investigative Reporter \nAmanda Hess\, New York Times David Carr Fellow \nTamika Payne\, Advisor on gender-based violence and the protection and empowerment of women and girls \nGillian Thomas\, ACLU Senior Staff Attorney\, Women’s Rights Project \nAlanna Vagianos\, Women’s Editor at HuffPost \nSarah Wildman\, journalist and author \nSpace is limited\, please RSVP no later than Friday\, November 24th.
