DESCRIPTION:Jovo Martinović\nPlease join us for the 10th celebration of the Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism. \nThis year’s award will be given to Jovo Martinović\, an investigative reporter from Montenegro known for his extensive reporting on organized crime in Europe and war criminals in the Balkans. Martinović\, whose travel has been restricted as a result of his journalism\, will participate via video conference. \nThe award is being held for the first time at its new home at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. \nA panel of media experts will discuss the importance and perils of global investigative journalism: \n\nTanya Domi\, adjunct assistant professor of international and public affairs at Columbia University\nAlen Mlatišuma\, internet managing editor for Voice of America’s eurasia division\nMichael Montgomery\, senior producer and reporter at Reveal\nMarija Šajkaš\, journalist and founder of 4 Better Media\n\nTickets to the ceremony are $25 online\, $35 at the door. \nPlease click here for more information about the Peter Mackler Award and to donate.
