DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Katie Honan\, Senior Reporter at THE CITY \nAs the run-up to the November 5 elections heats up\, so does the need for the media to focus on the races and issues that matter to the communities they cover. Election season is also an opportunity for community media to expand their readership and reach. Delivering high-impact\, in-depth stories on tight deadlines and expanding coverage with limited resources requires robust and efficient editorial decisions and reporting. \nThis 90-minute training will cover these reporting challenges and opportunities: \n\nEthical journalism and objectivity\nCovering candidates and campaigns\nPolling and data analysis\nMisinformation and disinformation concerns\nEngaging with audiences\n\nThis training is funded by the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
