If you’ve never seen Dave Jorgenson, The Washington Post’s TikTok guy, you’re in for a treat. He produces funny, newsy video briefs on the paper’s TikTok account.

Is a platform that started as a collection of short dance videos essential to the future of journalism? Find out on Wednesday, January 26 at 12:30 p.m. in a panel discussion and workshop titled “Video Across Platforms: Reporting on TikTok, IG, and YouTube.”

Moderated by Emmy award-winning producer Wonbo Woo, the one-hour panel will feature:

    • Raney Aronson-Rath, executive producer, Frontline
    • John Friia ‘17, host/creator, @hereinnyc
    • Madeleine Haeringer, senior vice president, editorial, NBC News
    • Dave Jorgenson, TikTok guy, The Washington Post

At the conclusion of that discussion, Woo will segue into a practical workshop on how to best use and manage these platforms for journalism. A former broadcast-journalist-in-residence at the Newmark J-School, Woo has worked for WIRED, NBC’s Nightly News, and Nightline and World News Tonight at ABC.

“Video Across Platforms” is open to the public for only $29. REGISTER HERE.
