SUMMARY:"Robert F. Kennedy Funeral Train\, The People's View" Showcase with Rein Terpstra
DESCRIPTION:Several days after the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968\, his coffin was transported by private funeral train from New York to Washington\, D.C. Scores of onlookers took photos as the train passed through their cities and towns. Magnum Photographer Paul Fusco\, who was on the train\, documented the thousands of Americans who lined the train tracks to pay their last respects to the senator. \nFifty years later\, Dutch photographer Rein Terpstra has compiled a book that combines a remarkable collection of photos that bystanders took of the funeral train with previously unpublished photographs by Paul Fusco. On Oct. 18\, Terpstra will share this special collection at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at 6:30 p.m. \nPlease RSVP in order to attend. \n
