SUMMARY:Long Live the Group Chat: How Reporters Can Practice Self and Community Care
DESCRIPTION:Here’s what it takes to be a good\, relatively stable reporter these days: a really good group chat. \nIn this session\, we’ll walk through some best practices and offer real-life examples of how reporters can make the most of their connections with one another to commiserate when it’s necessary and celebrate when it’s time. \nEvery day we’re bombarded with terrible news and destabilizing catastrophes that threaten our bodies\, lives\, families and communities. It’s impossible to manage alone. Enter group chats. Sure\, they’re not perfect\, but group chats have emerged as an accessible way to inform\, grieve\, and rally the people closest to you. \nJoin Jamilah King in Room 330. Lunch will be served.
