Amy Dunkin joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in January 2008 after a long career as a magazine and newspaper reporter and editor.
As director of academic operations, she oversees the school’s human resources activities, edits the website, works with the assistant dean for external affairs on school communications, handles accreditation-related matters, serves as secretary of the Governance Council, and is a member of the Diversity Committee. Previously, she served as the campus Title IX Coordinator.
Amy came to CUNY from BusinessWeek magazine, where she supervised the personal finance and lifestyle coverage; founded one of its first blogs, Working Parents; managed the summer internship program, and led a successful campaign for company-wide paid adoption benefits.
Prior to that, she was a municipal and business reporter for The Record newspaper in northern New Jersey.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York’s University at Buffalo with a B.A. in English and was editor-in-chief of the student newspaper.
