Andrea Stone joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY as Director of Career Services in February 2015 after more than three decades as a print and digital journalist.
She is currently working with the Assistant Dean for External Affairs on various writing and research projects.
Prior to CUNY, Andrea led the website launch for Al Jazeera America, was senior national correspondent for The Huffington Post, and served as Washington bureau chief for AOL News.
Andrea spent most of her career at USA TODAY, where she covered national news, the Pentagon, Capitol Hill, presidential and congressional politics, foreign affairs, and business. She has reported from 47 states and more than two dozen countries, including conflict zones in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, and the Palestinian territories.
Early in her career, she worked at newspapers in New York, Florida, and Illinois.
She has an M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in English from CUNY’s Herbert H. Lehman College.
