Andrea Stone joined the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in February 2015 after more than three decades as a print and digital journalist.
Andrea runs the J-School’s summer internship program, oversees the career fairs and other events, nurtures relationships with employers, and provides counsel and contacts to students navigating the job market.
Prior to CUNY, Andrea led the website launch for Al Jazeera America, was senior national correspondent for The Huffington Post, and served as Washington bureau chief for AOL News.
Andrea spent most of her career at USA TODAY, where she covered national news, the Pentagon, Capitol Hill, presidential and congressional politics, foreign affairs, and business. She has reported from 47 states and more than two dozen countries, including conflict zones in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, and the Palestinian territories.
Early in her career, she worked at newspapers in New York, Florida, and Illinois.
She has an M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in English from CUNY’s Herbert H. Lehman College.
