Ann Choi is a data reporter on the investigations team at Newsday. Previously, she held the same position at the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Her byline has also been featured in the Miami Herald, the Austin American-Statesman, and at KUT in Austin, Texas.
Before coming to Newmark J-School, Ann taught data journalism at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, and at St. Joseph’s College.
She has received awards for her coverage of South Florida’s criminal justice system for the mentally ill, and racially uneven arrest patterns on Long Island.
Ann emigrated from South Korea to study journalism at University of Texas at Austin, where she received a bachelor’s degree in 2012, and a master’s in 2014.
