Emmanuel “Mano” Alexandre joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in November 2009. He serves as the lead cinematographer on the team that produces the school’s promotional videos, in-studio captures, and special projects.
As lighting director, he was instrumental in the redesign of the broadcast studio’s lighting system. As a visual journalism coach, he shares with students the latest production innovations. He has created an array of training manuals intended to simplify technical information for faculty, students, and staff.
From 2004-2006, he worked in the Film Production Program at Brooklyn College. He currently contributes to the BRIC television station in Brooklyn.
Mano is an independent filmmaker with an MFA degree in Cinematography and Documentary Directing from the City College of New York. He earned a B.A. in Media Studies from Hunter College.
