Esha Ray joined the Newmark J-School in August 2021. She is the night editor on the National desk at The New York Times, where her responsibilities include editing enterprise stories from across the country, monitoring news alerts and coordinating coverage when big stories break, and upholding Times standards and style.
Prior to The Times, Esha was a Metro reporter and editor at The New York Daily News and was part of the team that won awards from the New York State Associated Press Association and the New York Press Club for crime and spot news coverage.
Previously, Esha was an on-camera reporter for CBS New York and News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn. She started her career as an associate producer for WNET New York Public Media.
Esha received her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Economics from New York University.
