Hannah Fresques is a data reporter at ProPublica, specializing in data-driven investigative stories. Her work has focused on education, consumer finance, and healthcare and has been featured in USA Today, The Atlantic Online and The Virginian-Pilot.
She shared the 2017 Philip Meyer Award for empirical methods in journalism as part of a team reporting on consumer bankruptcy.
Before she was a reporter, Hannah worked in education policy research. She holds a master’s degree in quantitative methods for social sciences from Columbia University, where her coursework focused on applied statistics, research methodology and data science.
