Jennifer Celestin joined the Newmark J-School in September 2020 as the Research and Development Associate. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Resource Development Coordinator at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) for the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center. During her tenure at BMCC, Celestin developed and managed grants and scholarships funds totaling over $1 million dollars.
Celestin is also a performer, writer, and creative writing instructor. She has performed at numerous venues in New York City, including the Bowery Poetry Club and Café, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, El Museo Del Barrio and BRIC Arts Media. Celestin has also performed and facilitated workshops outside of the United States in Montreal and Haiti. Her publication credits include, the Hawai’i Review, aaduna, and Midnight & Indigo.
Celestin has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wesleyan University, a Master of Arts in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Queens College.
