K. Dominic McKenzie is a reporter at Spectrum News Hudson Valley in New York. He worked as an anchor/reporter for multiple news offerings on NCU 91.1 FM and NCU Television in his birth country, Jamaica, for over four years.
McKenzie earned a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and an Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurial Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. He served as class speaker at the 2018 commencement.
A believer in servant leadership, McKenzie is executive director of JournoCollective. JournoCollective is a nonprofit offering high school and college students in Jamaica, an exclusive platform to learn from journalists in Jamaica and in the diaspora, through one-on-one mentorship and training. The project had its infancy as part of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism fellowship at the J-School.
He was appointed All-Star Ambassador by the Obama White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in 2015, joining a prestigious collective of HBCU graduates.
