Mariana Janjacomo has worked in broadcast journalism as a correspondent and producer. In her eight years as a journalist, she has also worked for magazines, radio stations, and branded content websites.
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, she has reported on stories as complex as the city itself, ranging from social inequality to the diverse cultural representations that permeate the most populated city on the continent. Most recently, she served as a foreign correspondent for CNN Brazil, covering the U.S. elections and President Joe Biden’s inauguration, as well as the consequences of the January 6 Capitol insurrection and other breaking news, always reporting live.
She has a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Innovation from New York University, having graduated with a project on how to create workflows and systems that increase diversity within media organizations in Brazil. She was also awarded a 2020 PILOT Media Technology and Innovation scholarship.
