Tim Healy, a freelance data journalist, was the data editor at Newsday from 2011-2019, where he acquired and edited large databases and helped reporters interpret, analyze, and visualize data. He also assisted reporters in filing and pursuing Freedom of Information Law requests.
Before working with data, he held several positions at the paper, including Sunday news editor, copy chief, executive news editor, and business editor.
Tim holds a B.A. in Communications from Fordham University. He has taught news editing at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and at Hofstra University. A Brooklyn native, he now lives in the Bronx.
