(of the March 2020 pilot program, Product Immersion for Small Newsrooms)

“When I got into this program, it was like this huge light (went on). I was able to present ideas in a different way and make sense of the work that I was doing. I was actually operating as a product person, but I didn’t have the language to really define that or to present things in a way that represented the work that I was doing.” — Jos Duncan, Director of Product Management, WURD Radio in Philadelphia.

“COVID-19 was like nothing I or our newsrooms had experienced before. Things changed by the hour or minute. Product thinking helped me apply deliberate thinking and strategy to a chaotic news cycle,” – Alana Christensen, Digital Coordinator, McPherson Media Group in Shepparton, Australia.

“We were having problems defining processes and roles in the team. Also problems delegating in product development. The program made us start working on these things and when COVID appeared, it was so satisfying and surprising to see how well we were doing remotely.” – Maximiliano De Rito, Product Manager, RED/ACCIÓN in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
