Sorry for the delay, but technical difficulties kept me from filing over the weekend. So let’s cut to the chase:
- Mike Reicher’s story about some ongoing NIMBY fights — and a counter-intuitive report that suggests introducing “supportive housing” into neighborhoods can raise property values –made City Limits.
- Jenni Avins’ fun review of The Drake Hotel in Toronto was featured on the Mr. & Mrs. Smith webiste.
- Sergey Kadinsky’s article about the effort to rebuild Joseph’s Tomb was featured in the Jewish Press.
- Damiano Beltrami’s interview with an author who spoke about Zimbabwe’s future made the UNA-USA website.
- Collin Orcutt and Brian Winkowski teamed on a video piece that looks at the fallout from Michael Phelp’s bong misadaventure. Their story can be found on the News Service.
- Speaking of tarnished athletes, Ben Fractenberg shared a byline on this fan reaction piece about the A-Roid, er, A-Rod mess.
- Maria Clark covered a Bronx hostage drama for The News.
- Tim Persinko shared a byline on this Daily News story about a hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn that badly injured two young brothers.
- Joel Schectman’s profile of a business struggling to keep a cybercafe afloat in Morrisania made The News’ Bronx section. See the attached pdf.
Our Alumni Corner features some great teamwork:
- Stephen Bronner, David Chiu, Daniel Macht, Clark Merrefield, Erin O’Neill and Rosaleen Ortiz contributed to the walkup to and coverage of last week’s Future of New York City conference. The event was presented by Crain’s New York Business and the Partnership for New York City, and co-hosted by CUNY. Our team’s work can be found on a special Crain’s website. Some of their stories also made Crain’s print edition.
Congrats to all – and keep ’em coming.
