•Kate Trafecante’s story about the return of B train express service in Brooklyn made Sheepshead Bites.

•Joanna Fantozzi wrote a piece for The West Side Spirit about a one-man show based on the Allen Ginsberg poem “Kaddish.”

•If you missed it on TV, the September edition of 219 West is online, and includes contributions by Thomas Chan, Tamy Cozier, Brendaliss Gonzalez, Jennifer Hamblett, Judy Le, Annais Morales and Amy Stretten.

•Lindsay Armstrong shared the byline on a front-page Norwood News story about a spate of muggings. You can get the pdf here.

•Alva French helped produce this AP video about the American hikers recently released from Iran.

•Tuan Nguyen put together a print and video package for DNA with his coverage of a job fair in Washington Heights.

•Alcione Gonzalez scripted and edited this NBC News story about free school lunches in rural China.

•Patrick Hickey’s profile of a quirky actress starring in a one-woman show about her friendship with her collection of mops found a home in the Daily News. Kimie Bunyasaranand’s feature on a Washington Heights little league that trains year-round ran in the paper on the same day.

•Elbert Chu’s story about an art project lighting up the Hudson River made The Villager.

•Amy Kraft’s podcast about a study suggesting bicyclists are sucking in soot was featured on Scientific American’s site.

•The latest on The Local includes contributions by, among others, Roxanna Asgarian, Martin Burch, Liza Eckert, Celia Gorman, Menglin Huang, Martin Leung, Tierney McAfee, Chester Soria, Joseph Stepansky, Christina Streich and Mitch Trinka.

•Lots of News Service action: Brendaliss Gonzalez and Alcione Gonzalez combined on a video piece about street flooding woes in Chinatown. Elis Estrada and Christina Diaz teamed on a video report about the move toward eco-friendly fashions. Judy Le and Annais Morales paired on a video examining the pet shop business.

•Our Town’s look at the best building workers in the city features profiles by Anika Anand, Kenneth Christensen, Juan DeJesus, Tom DiChristopher, Tristan Hallman, Jesse Leon, Amora McDaniel, Ajai Raj, Dan Rosenblum, Paulette Safdieh, Laura Shin, Jermaine Taylor, Emma ThorneAshley Welch and alum Linnea Covington.

•How’s this for J-School teamwork: Alum Azriel Relph put together this video and print package about efforts to stem the dropout rate for MSNBC and The Grio with help from the Class of ‘11’s Sherrina Navani.

•More alumni-driven teamwork: Becky Harshbarger and Hannah Rappleye shared the byline on this New York Post front-page story about the aftermath of the Occupy Wall Street protest on the Brooklyn Bridge.

•Speaking of our alumni, Vinita Singla wrote a piece for CNBC.com about saving for retirement.
