What better way to end the first week of the new semester than with some of the latest links from our reporters:

•Eric Levitz’ story about a push to change New York’s adoption records law found a home in City Limits. Michaela Ross wrote about a Bronx program aimed at stopping retaliatory violence .

•Cariba Party, reporting out of Martinique, contributed to this Daily News story about one of the police officers killed in the Paris shootings. Catherine Roberts reported on the firing of a Bronx community board district manager.

•Maura Ewing’s story about how big data could identify – and help – people at risk of becoming homeless made Next City.

•Maya Dangerfield wrote about runner safety for West Side Rag.

•Kimberly Conner covered a precinct community council meeting for Bensonhurst Bean.

•Rahim Chagani’s put together a photo essay about a recent immigrant from Mexico for Voices of NY. Rachael Levy, Matt MacVey and Minda Smiley teamed on a video about two Hasidic women who formed an alt-rock band that plays only for women.
