This course will help students learn how to find and best present the information their communities want to know. Students will identify the best sources in the community, including other media. In coordination with the community engagement course, students will profile communities and meet people in them.
Requirement: Students in both the MA-Journalism and the MA-Social Journalism are required publish at least one piece of work each semester in Craft 1 and 2 (MAJ) and Reporting for Social J and Advanced Reporting for Social J (MASJ). Students can fulfill this requirement with work from any first or second-semester class.
