Brown-Bag Lunch Series: Food Writer Ed Levine

  • By Newmark J-School Staff

Time: 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Place: Room 308
For Students, Faculty, Staff, and Guests

The first speaker in our new brown-bag lunch series will be New York-based food writer Ed Levine. Ed is founder of Serious Eats, named this year as one of the 50 best Web sites by Time.com and one of the best “undiscovered” sites by PC Magazine.

Professor Fred Kaufman, who wrote “A Short History of the American Stomach” and is our inhouse food expert, will moderate.

If you are not familiar with Serious Eats, have missed Ed’s stories in The New York Times, BusinessWeek, and GQ, or have never heard him talk about food on radio or television (or even if you have), you’re in for a treat.

Ed is extremely knowledgeable about most things in the food world, and he’s one of the foremost authorities on eating in NYC–not just in Manhattan but throughout the five boroughs. If you’re looking for the best cheesecake, pizza, barbeque, dim sum, or whatever food you fancy, Ed is the man to ask.

Please be sure to mark the session with Ed and Fred on your calendars. And don’t forget to bring lunch.
