Class of 2016 student Harini Chakrapani is studying at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism to polish her journalistic writing skills. But she clearly has literary talent as well.
Her new fantasy novel, The Secret of the Mantle, was recently published by New Delhi-based OM Books International and is available on Amazon.
Chakrapani said it took her six years, while working as a celebrity/lifestyle reporter in Dubai, to write the book and find a publisher. She was inspired by western and eastern mythologies, anime, J.R.R. Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe, and C.S. Lewis.
The Secret of the Mantle is about a journey filled with magic and mystery from the depths of the Arabian Sea to the molten inferno below the earth’s crust called the Mantle.
It is the story of the search for the Chosen One, destined to save us all from our planet’s imminent doom.
