As the CUNY J-School prepares for its 10th anniversary, the national and international profile of the graduate program is growing, with more than a third of its students doing their summer internships outside New York City.
Some 103 Class of 2016 interns are working not only at outlets in NYC but in cities across the United States and in a dozen countries.
A full-time internship at a media outlet in the summer between the second and third semesters is a requirement of the core Master of Arts in Journalism degree at CUNY.
What makes our internship program unique is that we guarantee all students will receive a minimum of $3,000. If the employer doesn’t pay, we do. We know of no other journalism school that does that.
