
Carmina Crusafon has taken up residence this summer as a visiting scholar to study new business models for local news.
During her stay, she will work with the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
Dr. Crusafon is a senior lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and holds a PhD in Communication Studies.
As a researcher, she specializes in global and supranational media systems and media policy in the European Union and Latin America.
She is deputy director of the Ibero-American Observatory of Communication, co-editor of the Spanish Journal “Conexiones. Revista Iberoamericana de Comunicación” and former vice chair of the Communication Law and Policy section at the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA).
