Tiye Sheppard, a 2014 graduate of the University of San Francisco, has been awarded the NABJ scholarship for the Class of 2017 at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
The full-tuition scholarship goes to a student who is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
In Sheppard’s case, it is worth the $32,000 tuition cost for students from out of state.
Sheppard has a B.A. in Media Studies and is interested in studying documentary video and urban reporting at the CUNY J-School.
