Isabella Camacho-Craft joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in 2025 as the Director of Communications and Events. In this role, she leads the J-School’s communications strategy, shaping its public voice, strengthening engagement across platforms, and elevating its mission and profile.
Before joining Newmark J-School, she was the Director of Communications at the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality, where she built and led the center’s communications and external affairs strategy, crafting a distinct organizational voice to make complex public policy research accessible and impactful. Her career has also included communications, policy, and outreach roles at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment.
Isabella holds an M.P.P. from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
