The New York Financial Writers’ Association has selected three Class of ’14 business concentration students for $3,000 awards in its annual scholarship competition.
The prizes go to graduate or undergraduate journalism students in the tristate area who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in business and financial journalism.
This year’s winners from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism were Patrick Gillespie, Antonia Massa, and Brianna McGurran. They were among the 10 recipients of 2014 scholarships.
All three students will start summer internships in June: Gillespie at the McClatchey Newspapers Washington Bureau, Massa at Money magazine, and McGurran at Oregon Public Radio.
They will receive their awards on May 13 at a NYFWA event in New York City.
