On March 19, join Nate Burleson, former NFL wide-receiver turned CBS Mornings Anchor, and Vanessa Botelho, Associate Professor of Broadcast and Digital Journalism at Newmark J-School, for a conversation about Burleson’s journey from professional football to broadcast journalism, the hurdles he’s faced along the way, and how he’s cultivated a distinctive “voice” that resonates with millions of network television viewers. Burleson is an Emmy Award-winning studio analyst for the CBS Television Network’s NFL pre-game show — “The NFL Today” — and makes select appearances on Nickelodeon. During his 11-year career in the NFL, Burleson played for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and the Detroit Lions.

A Q&A with students and attendees will follow. This event is open to the Newmark J-School community and public. Please RSVP.
