Instructor: Katie Honan, Senior Reporter at THE CITY

As the run-up to the November 5 elections heats up, so does the need for the media to focus on the races and issues that matter to the communities they cover. Election season is also an opportunity for community media to expand their readership and reach. Delivering high-impact, in-depth stories on tight deadlines and expanding coverage with limited resources requires robust and efficient editorial decisions and reporting.

This 90-minute training will cover these reporting challenges and opportunities:

  • Ethical journalism and objectivity
  • Covering candidates and campaigns
  • Polling and data analysis
  • Misinformation and disinformation concerns
  • Engaging with audiences

This training is funded by the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. If you have any questions, contact .
